This is not for your kid's story. Having said that I found this story to be light and easy reading. A total delight, just sexy enough to give you a blush and real enough to make you think "I Could do that." Miss Caine has a rare and quite refreshing way of telling a story and I'm looking forward to reading more of them.Product details

This book to me was on the boring side. It had a good plot, it just never went andy where with it.
Delightful, powerful female characters. The mother daughter relationship is healthy. the performance art chapter was the only tangent, Everything else paints a wonderful story line. Need more Sophies in our world. Please continue this adventure.
This story is really entertaining, but way too short. I would love it to have been ten times this length. The author does a wonderful job of describing the reluctance, embarrassment, and yet eroticism the protagonist encounters as she discovers, much to her own mortification, that she is a bit of an exhibitionist. The daughter is a delightful character who really brings a lot to the story. There is no explicit sex, yet the story is as erotic as anything I have ever read.
This story may be way too tame for most erotica fans as it contains no sex scenes, but it is my favourite of all the Cassie Caine books I've read. There may be no sex, but this story of a forty-year old librarian discovering the excitement of being the only one naked when she takes up nude modelling for a life drawing class is titillating.
"Write about what you know," is standard advice to writers and this is what Cassie Caine has done with this story. Photographing nudes is her other occupation, and she convincingly depicts the nervousness of a first-time nude model.
This is not a wild romantic fantasy full of glamorous characters. The central character, Sophie is a working single mother and the art class is a small group of everyday people being instructed by Clodagh, an artist with a passion for promoting the uninhibited enjoyment of nudity and its depiction in art. Sophie is a very easy character to relate to and I found myself completely wrapped up in the excitement of her adventure into public nudity. I couldn't put the book down. Beyond the mild sauciness of a woman discovering that she likes to be naked in front of people who are clothed and that she enjoys being ordered around by a sexy clothed woman when she is, the nudity theme also works as a metaphor for losing inhibitions and learning to be one's true self, and in that way the story is exhilarating and even, perhaps, inspirational.
"Clothes made people hard and armoured. Crouched naked among the clothed, she felt as delicate and graceful as a woodland animal. It was a scary feeling, but also a delicious one, and for the first time in years, she fell head over heals in love with her skinny little self."
This is only the first of a planned series of books about Sophie and her adventures and I anxiously await the next volume. This may be a slow-burn story compared to some of the author's raunchier works, but I can just imagine some of the sexy situations towards which she might be building.
The story was a great depiction of the evolving of someone who was shy and did something so out of character and embraced the change in her life.
The writing was very literate. The psychological insight into Sophie's motivation showed either great insight or experience with the subject of the book--being a nude artist's model.
I look forward to reading Cassie Caine's other works.
Usually this genre features a young chippie, but here we finally have a story about a person with mature thoughts, fears, and hopes. What results is a sensitive portrayal of someone with more responsibilities in life than just model--in fact, she has to overcome fears of acceptance by family members as well as by the artists. I think this was much better than some of the other works by the same author.
This is not for your kid's story. Having said that I found this story to be light and easy reading.
