Forbidden Magic Magic Series Book 1 Cheyenne McCray Books
I own this in paperback.First book I have read by this author, and WOW!! I am hooked, total fan now! Her characters are believable and the emotion really comes across. The story is fairly fast paced, lots of intensity. Anyone that is a fan of witch/ warlock novels will drool over this book!! The spotlight Cheyenne puts on her good/ evil battle mimics much which is true of human nature. She does an amazing job showing how that "line" is not always clear. There is much to feel on both sides of the story. There is intrigue, bits of humor, LOTS of anticipation (for the reader and the characters). Hot, steamy, and at times borderline kinky. An excellent read, anxious for book 2!

Forbidden Magic Magic Series Book 1 Cheyenne McCray Books Reviews
I loved this book well the whole series was sooooo good.Chyenne Mcray is now on top of my list of best books.I will read this again.Just to let you know it has it all fighting, bad guys, good guys, magic, love, and at times sad but the sex is amazing!!!She did a wonderful job with it.
I am not writing this review in regards to content (because I did not finish it) but about the kindle version. I couldn't actually finish the book because the kindle version was too difficult to read. I have read over 300 books on my kindle, but this looked like someone had photocopied the book and scanned it into a digital version. On the same page some sentences were in bold and some not. It was really to hard to focus on the words. I can't believe I paid money for it!
I LOVE IT!!! I could not put it down once i got it. wish there was more.
I read this series before lost a lot of my books in house fire. I loved series then and now
I purchased both books in this series and I am sooooo sorry I did. The characters are flat and if it wasn't for stereotypes they would have any development at all. This is paperback porn filled with "oooo baby you're so strong" etc. I couldn't bring myself to care for any of the characters good or bad and barely finished the book. The idea that the female villian was secretely pleased with the violent rough handling during sex and "couldn't get enough" was not only off-putting, it was sad. S&M has it's place I suppose but don't categorize it under "Romance". If you are looking for HOT,HARD sex scenes this series is for you ("Erotic" is putting it mildly). If you are looking for romance, adventure and a riveting story - save your money.
The premise was good. The characters I could have liked. Even Junga wasn't the typical one dimensional villian. She struggled with the morality of what was happening and the difference between acting on your nature as opposed to being evil. She struggled with her sexual preferences given her personality and leadership role. That was refreshing. But still this book didn't work for me.
Too much head hopping. I like 3rd person. I enjoy more than one perspective. But sections are nice. I never knew from one paragraph to the next whose head I'd be in.
WAY too much attention to the detail of things that don't deserve it. Like backing a car out off the driveway. "Open the door. Get in the car. Close the door. Fasten belt. Put key in ignition. Start car. Put car in reverse. Look behind you. Ease off brake. Step on gas." detail. I know how to drive. I'm been driving for 30 years. And even if I didn't know it doesn't matter to the story.
I got as much detail about the enemy's sexual relationships as I did about the relationship between the hero and heroine. It also kind of irritated me that it was those relationships that were dominance driven. Sort of a "bad people do bad things" deal. Disappointing since I'd understood this author wrote some very good BDSM. I suppose it was but it's too bad it was connected to the villians of the piece.
And there was painfully little sexual tension between Silver and Hawke. "Wow he's kind of hot." "We shouldn't do this. I loved my wife and this is disrepectful of her memory. Besides I don't want to hurt Silver." "Oh well. He isn't interested." And two pages later they're going at it like bunnies. Or maybe turtles since even when they got to it there was no sizzle. I read everything from Amanda Ashley to Lora Leigh. Don't require intensely explicit sex scenes to enjoy a book. On the other hand I don't shy away from them either. What I do require is a sense of real emotion and I didn't get that in this book.
The characters are shallow. The heroine is foolhardy in the interest of being a free and modern woman, which of course, forces her to rely on the man. There are far to many repetitive descriptions of the hero's perfect body and cookie craving. Additionally, the writer saw fit to try to through in some Celtic info and witchcraft in dilemma to try to capitalize on the popularity of books such as those written by Kelly Armstrong, Kim Harrison and Laurel K Hamilton. However, the only thing remarkable in the book is the kinky demon/warlock sex. If I read another of these books, it will be from the library. It is VERY clear that more books in the series can be expected and that is something I consider cheap.
I own this in paperback.
